Woodward Safety Heath and Environment Ltd is a West Cumbrian family led SME specialising in the delivery of accredited NEBOSH, IOSH and Highfield training courses UK wide.
From Humble Beginnings
“We believe people should be safe at work”
Woodward SHE Ltd has been trying to make this simple statement a reality since it was founded by Tom (snr) way back in 1992. We are not about selling certificates or ticking boxes. We are a caring family firm with traditional Cumbrian values who want to give our learners the skills and knowledge to keep themselves, their colleagues, customers, contractors and others safe in the workplace.
We have over 25 years experience and expertise in training in health and safety management and environmental management. We hope that we can use that experience and expertise not only to help you to pass your course and gain your qualification but also to enhance your career.
Our pass rates for NEBOSH Certificate courses are well over 90 percent and other courses results are well above the national average. With very few exceptions our NEBOSH National Diploma learners have moved into well paid health and safety positions. All the qualifications offered by Woodward SHE are nationally recognised and accredited.

Our Associate Trainer Scheme
The Woodward Associate scheme is a way that a trainer; either an individual trainer or a trainer working within an organisation, can register with us to deliver a whole range of IOSH and Highfield (HABC) courses under the Woodward banner. Several of our senior associates have even progressed on to delivering their own in-house NEBOSH courses.
Through this scheme we want to help you ensure your company has cost-effective access to the training it needs to keep people safe.

Our Woodward Alumni Network
We wanted to build a community of qualified Health and Safety practitioners, who could support each others career development, which is why we launched our Woodward Alumni Network.

The NDA Supply Chain Charter
In January 2018 we signed up to the principles of the NDA Supply Chain Charter.
The Supply Chain Charter aims to foster good working relationships across the NDA Estate supply chain, with all parties signing up to a set of principles encouraging mutually beneficial and rewarding relationships.

The Armed Forces Covenant
In March 2018 we were delighted to be able to demonstrate our support for the Armed Forces Community by signing the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Move to Energus, Workington
In December 2018 we move into our new Office and Training Suite in the Energus Academy in Workington.
Energus is ideally situated for us, close to Workington and Whitehaven, and also provides world class facilities to support our portfolio of NEBOSH, IOSH and Highfield (HABC) training courses. Everyone we have met at Energus has made us feel very welcome !

NEBOSH Gold Learning Partner Status
In September 2019 NEBOSH launched the Learning Partner program to recognise those Learning Partners that provide learners with the best possible learning experience.
Learning Partners were all classified based on their performance against the programme’s principles, which represent global best practice in the provision of course tuition and support. Learning Partners can be identified as follows:
- Gold – greatly exceeds the principles
- Silver – exceeds the principles
- Bronze – meets the principles
We’re very proud to have been awarded GOLD Learning Partner status.
